Hi, welcome! My name is Melissa Fraser, and I’m a clinical mental health counseling intern completing my master’s degree at the University of Southern Maine under the supervision of Tom Cannon, LCPC.
I believe we all deserve a space where we feel seen, accepted, and understood as we are. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in person-centered therapy, with a deep appreciation for curiosity, authenticity, and self-compassion. I believe that greater understanding of ourselves can open the door to meaningful change, deeper connection, and a more fulfilling relationship with who we are. My work is informed by person-centered, attachment-based, and Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed approaches, creating space to explore the experiences and patterns that shape how we relate to ourselves and others.
If you’re experiencing anxiety, navigating a life transition, struggling in your relationships, or feeling disconnected from yourself, we may be a good fit to work together. I’m especially drawn to working with individuals navigating changes in identity, relationships, or parenthood, as well as those who feel overwhelmed by expectations, are working to establish boundaries, or want to better understand themselves and their experiences.
I strive to create an inclusive, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where you can show up as you are, explore what feels difficult, and move at your own pace. You don’t need to have the right words or know exactly where to begin. Wherever you are in your journey, you are welcome here.
